Started a blog but can’t get any readers?
Let’s fix that!
Some tips👇
🔺 Tip #1: Niche down
Focus on a hyper-specific topic and become the go-to expert on that topic. For instance, if you’re starting a travel blog, you might focus on only UK travel.
Later, when your Blog has gained some traction, you can branch out and cover broader topics.
🔺 Tip #2: Write about topics people are searching for
Use a keyword research tool to find these topics. A Google search should get you plenty of free options.
Alternatively, if you want a larger pool of ideas w/ important keyword metrics, you can use Ahrefs’ Keywords Explorer.
🔺 Tip #3: Create content worth referencing
“Create great content” is not an actionable concept. Instead, make sure your content is worth “remarking” about a post.
Add a unique spin to your content by including data, running surveys, or acquiring real-life experience.

🔺 Tip #4: Make your posts easy to read
It’s your job as a writer to help your readers decide to start reading.
Learn how to edit your copy. Break up long sentences. Use good formatting. Insert multimedia. Read your text out loud to find areas where it doesn’t flow smoothly.
🔺 Tip #5: Get feedback on your writing
If you want exceptional work, you need the input of another person. This Tip applies even if you’re working on your blog alone.
At Ahrefs, we read each other’s content and offer feedback so we can clarify points, rework sentences, etc.

🔺 Tip #6: Build an email list
If you build your following on a 3rd-party platform, you can remove it anytime. Instead, create an email list.
The easiest way is to offer something in return for subscribing. At Ahrefs, we show a simple slide-in box at the end of the article.
🔺 Tip #7: Write every day
Blogging IS writing. To write well, you have to practice frequently.
It could be a blog post draft, a tweet, an email, a blog comment, and so on.
It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular. Just focus on building a habit of putting pen to paper daily if you started a blog.
